Venice is one of the most picturesque, romantic, interesting and awe-inspiring cities in the world. Packed with boutique shops, restaurants and wine bars serving chicchetti (Venice''s version of tapas) a photograph opportunity awaits around every corner. Take a romantic ride on a Gondola around the narrow canals or take a trip up the Campanile (standing at almost 99 metres high) which is the city''s tallest building, originally built in 888. From here you can take in the magnificent view of this unique island. There are many famous art galleries along with regular classical concerts to see in the evenings.
The best way to take in the Grand Canal and see the sights is on board a vaporetto (Venice''s waterbus system). Don''t miss the stunning St Marks square, Basilica di San Marco, Doge''s Palace, Rialto Bridge and bridge of sighs. The list goes on! Numerous films have been shot in Venice including scenes in Casino Royale, The Italian Job and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade which was shot in Campo San Barnaba. This square is lined with outdoor cafes and perfect for people watching and enjoying a spritz.
If the hustle and bustle of the city is getting too much take a short waterbus ride to Murano where the famous glass is made or to Lido island and take a stroll along the beach.
